Vaxholm organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2014, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Show with uni-cycles, demonstrating packet cycle, organising "In town without my car" on Saturday September 20 with several activities on the street like offering free health test on an excercise bike, cooperation with local stores along the street, planning for some kind of flash mob, offering climate smart cooking etc.

Organiserar "I stan utan min bil" lördagen den 20:e september med flera aktiviteter på gatan, som t.ex. gratis hälsotest på en motion cykel, samarbete med lokala butiker längs gatan, erbjuder klimatsmart matlagning, etc Planerar även för någon slags flash mob.

Implementing Vaxholm city´s recently established Environmental Programme including - among a range of measures - planning for less energy use in travelling and transportation and a raising part of renewable energy, planning för less emissions and traffic noice at schools, planning for an increasing share of sustainable travelling through public transports and pedestrian och cycle routes.

Vaxholm carries out a Car-Free Day 2014 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The lower part of Hamngatan in central Vaxholm will be resticted for cars on Saturday September 20.
