All week
The Municipality of Ravenna is working to involve students and citizens in the European Mobility Week.
During all the week, 0-24, cars will be banned in a road in front of a secondary school with more than 650 students. This “new” public space – for pedestrians and cyclists - will host activities with students on road safety education and sustainable mobility but also actions finalized to the re-appropriation of the road space: from sports to poetry, from music to books, the aim is to bring people on the street to enjoy the public space. Moreover, there will be space to inform students and citizens on public transport and apps to promote information technologies in mobility.
During all the EMW four elementary schools will start, for this school year, the “pedibus”, a pedestrian bus for students to reach the school in a sustainable way. The Municipality of Ravenna is also involved in the so called “Giretto d’Italia”, a national initiative to promote the “bike-to-work”, that will take place September 21.
Moreover the city center will be peacefully invaded by cyclists Sunday: a bike ride will start from one of the central squares to reach the more representative monuments.
