Car-free day Car-free day

Aberdeen City carries out a Car-Free Day 2018 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
On Sunday the 16th of September, a section of Union Street (the main street in the city centre) and a number of tributary streets will be closed to hold an In Town Without My Car Day Event (ITWMCD). The ITWMCD event will have a number of sustainable and active travel themed activities for the public to enjoy.

On the 18th of September a road will be closed outside Westpark School so that we can hold an Active Travel Day. During the active travel day scooter games and smoothie bikes will be run in the closed road.
