Bashkia Shkoder (Municipality of Shkodra) organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2023, taking into account the annual theme.

The Municipality of Shkodra joins the European Mobility Week, with a series of sports and educational activities, such as the MTB Cross Country Race "Trofeu Gilman Bakalli" 2023, the "World Car - Free Day", the exhibition with old bicycles, various activities for children aged 5-10 years old will be combined with educational ones, to learn the benefits of cycling, such as: games with animators, face painting, coloring, bicycle rides, how to repair a bike, how to perform first aid, children's performance part of the "Vllaznia Taekwondo" team.

Video promotion: Shkodra, the city of bicycle!
Shkodra is known in Albania and beyond for the use of bicycles as a healthy way of life.
While traditionally in every house in Shkodra, the bicycle has an important place, every day more and more dedicated spaces are created in the city.
Since May 2023, the first 1,500 meters of bicycle lanes have been completed, and the installation of traffic dividers for bicycle lanes for another 3,000 m is underway.
This is just the beginning!
Through Shkoder by bike, at any age, in any place!

Activity 1: Exhibition of old bicycles
The most oldest and classic bicycles, fanatically preserved by citizens of Shkodra, will be exhibited.
Activity 2: Cycling with children
The use of bicycles begins in childhood. In order to preserve the tradition and encourage cycling, a bicycle riding will take place across the road Mother Teresa Square to Democracy Square, with the participation of about 50 children between the ages of 5 – 10 years old.
Activity 3: Learning basic first aid techniques
First aid knowledge is necessary for educating and informing new generations, some basic first aid tips and techniques will be illustrated.
Activity 4: Performance of the children's "Vllaznia Taekwondo"
Children between 5 and 10 years old, part of the "Vllaznia Taekwondo" team will offer a fantastic sports performance.

Car-free day Car-free day

Bashkia Shkoder (Municipality of Shkodra) carries out a Car-Free Day 2023 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The segment road Democracy Square - Mother Teresa Square - Skenderbeg Boulevard will be closed on September 22, 2023, in order to promote cycling and walking.
