Detailed description (English): The Directorate of Health, the Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region, and the Agency for Employment who are all situated on the same campus just outside the city of Luxembourg have received eight electric bicycles which are stationed on site. These bicycles can be booked by employees as a means of transport during their working hours. Just as one would book a service vehicle to carry out a mission, these electronic bicycles offer an ideal solution to remaining active when on the go in a professional capacity without being deterred by Luxembourg's hilly terrain. The sharing of these bicycles between administrations keeps costs to a minimum, and improves inter-ministerial relations. Internal promotion is continuously carried out to remind and encourage employees to favour using a bicycle over a car when possible. An electronic reservation system makes it easy for employees to book a bicycle. As the majority of employees have sedentary jobs, replacing the use of a car with a bicycle is a good way of breaking up extended periods of sitting.
