Ferrara organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2013, taking into account the annual theme.

Ferrara implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

Further info
Several improvements and new measures will improve sustainable mobility in Ferrara during 2013:
- GIM system: the new system of info-mobility supporting use of PT in the city through info-displays at bus stops (22 urban and 12 extra-urban stops);
- MiMuovo in Bici: electric bike-sharing regional system (70 bicycles) accessible through Regional Mobility Card (prepaid card allowing use of regional buses trains and bike-sharing systems in all regional cities);
- New bike path at the eastern side of the city (Via Zandonai) connecting all eastern neighbourhoods with the Urban park and the PO river top north;
- increased number of CNG buses within the urban bus fleet (4 more to reach a 36 total CNG buses);
- Signed a Mobility Management Agreement with the Marposs Company to bring to the factory (40km far) about 35 Ferrara Commuters;
- Awarded a School Bus Transport Contract (14 municipalities involved) to a company offering improved ecological performances of their fleet;
- installation of 7 new bike-counters in Ferrara urban centre (7 making a total of 18 on the provincial area);
- launch of a Zone30 (30 of maximum speed) pilot area with the City Restricted Area, allowing the double sense trips to bicycle in the (many) one-way streets of the city centre;
- improvement of the multi-modal hub (bus&Bike) of Rampari San Paolo with new parking facilities;

Car-free day Car-free day

Ferrara carries out a Car-Free Day 2013 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Due to the coincidence of EMW13 with the Balloon Festival initiative, the restricted area to cars will be implemented in the northern part of the city for the day 15th of September 2013.
