On-the-Ground Safety Audits for Micromobility and Pedestrian Lanes
We will conduct random safety checks on micromobility roads (scooter and bicycle lanes) and pedestrian walkways across key urban areas in Baku city. The aim is to assess real-life conditions, identify safety risks, and evaluate the actual usability and accessibility of these lanes.

Team of Transport Volunteers will document findings on-site and fact-check common assumptions about road and lane safety. The results—including both positive examples and areas of concern—will be transparently shared with the public to raise awareness, encourage civic engagement, and promote responsible use of urban space.

Insights and visuals from the safety audits will be published across social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, using engaging formats like reels, photo reports, and interactive polls to reach and involve a wider audience.

This initiative aims to bridge the gap between urban mobility planning and public perception by highlighting both truths and misconceptions about shared road safety.

School Zone Safety Upgrade: Protecting Young Pedestrians
This activity focuses on enhancing pedestrian safety around secondary educational institutions by repainting pedestrian crossings and installing special warning signs in school zones. The goal is to improve visibility, alert drivers to the presence of children, and create a safer walking environment for students during their daily commute.

By reinforcing school zone infrastructure, this initiative not only addresses road safety concerns but also encourages active mobility, such as walking or cycling to school. The project is carried out in collaboration with local municipalities and school communities, and serves as a practical step toward building more child-friendly urban spaces.

The process and impact of the activity will be shared through social media channels and local media outlets during the European Mobility Week, to promote public awareness and inspire similar actions across other neighborhoods.
