Permanent implementation of the ‘Foto-Rojo’ measure.
As part of European Mobility Week, the Mobility Department implemented the installation of ‘Foto-Rojo’ control systems as a permanent measure.
The permanent installation of this system aims to reduce traffic accidents by automatically penalising those who fail to stop at red lights. This encourages greater compliance with traffic regulations, protecting pedestrians and cyclists and promoting more responsible and safer driving behaviour.

To be decided
On Sunday, September 21, Malaga celebrated Car-Free Day with a series of activities aimed at promoting sustainable mobility and raising awareness of the need to eradicate transport poverty.

One of the highlights of this celebration was the restriction of vehicle traffic in one of Malaga's most emblematic areas: Paseo del Parque. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Paseo del Parque was closed to motorized traffic, providing a respite for residents and visitors alike, allowing them to walk, cycle, or enjoy a cleaner and quieter environment. This traffic restriction was a clear demonstration of Malaga's commitment to promoting sustainable modes of transportation and reducing air pollution in the city.

In addition to the traffic restriction, Malaga's Car-Free Day also included workshops and family games to raise awareness of the various sustainable mobility options and highlight a current problem such as transport poverty.

The local police, in addition to their collaboration in restricting and organizing traffic, held an exhibition of road safety equipment, such as speed cameras and devices for detecting alcohol and drug use, information panels, and various mobile traffic signs.
