Riga Urban Architect Service will present the Riga Street Typology Manual
On Monday, 16 September, the Riga Urban Architect Service will present the Riga Street Typology Manual. It is designed as a practical tool, the main objective of which is to establish a common quality standard in the design of Riga's streets. The manual summarises the principles and solutions for creating a functionally balanced and modern street space, thus becoming a useful tool for all those involved in the creation of Riga's street space at any stage of the process - road engineers, landscape architects, architects, urban planners, as well as the clients of street projects - municipal employees. The presentation will take place at the Institute of Architecture and Design of Riga Technical University (Room 116) from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone interested is invited to participate in the event.

The Tweed Ride
After a break of several years, the Tweed Ride returns to the streets of Riga on 21 September, celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Riga residents and visitors are invited to dress up in a classic, retro style, glam up their bicycles and enjoy the streets of Riga and the city's most beautiful places together. The Tweed Ride is turning into a charity movement, aiming not only to promote people's mobility, but also to support good deeds with a parade ride. Also this year, to celebrate the Tweed Ride, in cooperation with Žanis Lipke Memorial - House of Courage, special charity bike workshops for children from SOS villages will take place on 14 and 15 September, where children together with specialists will carefully repair 15 bicycles, which will then be left for the children.

This year, the Tweed ride will start at Vidzeme Market. The ride will take you through Grīziņkalns, Ģertrūdes Street, Old Riga, Uzvaras and Arkādijas Parks and end at Āgenskalns Market. Both venues will host various entertainment activities, musical performances, participants will be awarded in special nominations, CSDD will register bicycles, etc. The gathering at Vidzeme Market will start at 2 p.m., the ride will start at 4 p.m. and end at Āgenskalns Market around 5 p.m. - 5.30 p.m.. The event closes at 6 p.m.. The Tweed Ride is organised by the Latvian Old-Time Bicycle Club in cooperation with Riga Municipality.
