Luciano Ellena loves mules so much that he has dedicated his life to an art in danger of disappearing, that of the “sumpter”, a term derived from the old French “sommetier” and meaning “mule driver”. Luciano made his living with mules, taking them to graze steep meadows or transporting goods over the mountains together with Katty. Now, together with Paolo, who is about to open an alpine hut at 2,300 metres for the next three months, Luciano’s services really come in handy.

Mobility and urban spaces for all - Via Giovanni XXIII Chieri
The event is dedicated to middle school students and focuses on the European Mobility Week 2025 topic, Mobility for All. Generally speaking, in Italian cities and towns, young people's autonomous mobility is not always considered as an issue. Through a series of interactive activities, classes meet and engage in reflection on topics such as active mobility, urban accessibility, public spaces and how young people move from one to another. By sharing some projects carried out on these themes in the Chieri area, students will have the opportunity to experiment, discuss, share their experiences, and put forward proposals. The initiative is organized by Laqup Aps in collaboration with local schools, Fiab Muoviti Chieri, and with the support of the municipality.
