Aberdeen City organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2015, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Aberdeen City Council will be taking part in a range of activities to celebrate European Mobility Week, including:
1. A 'Pedal for Scotland' mass cycling event;
2. A City Centre 'Car Free Day' where a series of streets are closed to motor traffic and dedicated instead to a free public event on the themes of sustainable mobility and 'taking back the streets';
3. A sponsored cycling event with a City primary school;
4. A series of bicycle roadshows in schools; and
5. A series of 'business breakfasts' where we engage with members of the business community to promote sustainable mobility, particularly use of the Aberdeen Car Club.

Middleton Park School will have new cycle parking installed as part of their participation in EMW. Signage improvements for pedestrians and cyclists in the vicinity of the Robert Gordon University are being implemented. New Car Club bays will be implemented. Two safety campaigns are also taking place in September - one on bus safety, the other targeting unsafe parking outside schools.

Aberdeen City carries out a Car-free day 2015 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
