A Safer Route to School" - Safer Mobility for Student Pedestrians
The creation of the "A Safer Route to School" report will be conducted in collaboration with Petar Zrinski elementary School, based on a survey. The results obtained from the survey and their analysis will be presented at a parent meeting, where additional explanations will be provided to educate parents on the importance of supporting children in learning safe movement and to encourage dialogue on necessary steps for safer participation of children in traffic. Educational materials tailored to younger students will be created to raise awareness and encourage children's participation in traffic. Workshops will also be conducted with lower-grade students. Starting in early September, volunteers will assist children on the ground with practically mastering safe movement along safe routes. Additionally, an organized walking campaign will be launched to promote safe active mobility.

Sound Playground - Museum of Contemporary Art
The plaza of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb will briefly transform into a shared space for sound experiments, new experiences, and insights. This artistic project, conceived by Jan St. Werner, a leading sound artist of his generation, will consist of several elements.
On one side, there will be specially designed interactive panels that direct sound towards the exterior surfaces of the museum, creating intriguing reflections depending on the material and texture of the surfaces from which the sound waves bounce. Based on the assumption that each person perceives sounds differently, a space will be created between the sound sources and the reflecting surfaces that continuously changes in size and shape.
On the other side, the plaza will feature a "vibrational" installation that absorbs and amplifies vibrations from the environment, making visitors aware of the subtle energetic waves surrounding them. Through this installation, visitors can experience aspects of their environment that are usually imperceptible, fostering a deeper understanding and connection with the space they are in.

Apstraktna forma u transparentnom mediju - preobražaj umjetnice, Narodno sveučilište Sesvete
The transparency of the cocoon shell aims to establish a relationship between the artist and society. On one hand, the cocoon shell provides a sense of enclosure, security, and physical separation from the rest of the world, while on the other hand, it conveys a feeling of visual openness, exposure, and vulnerability. The transparency present serves as a reminder of the constant presence and vigilant gaze of people and the environment. It creates the impression of being under a microscope, like an object of scientific observation or research.
There are two reasons for the open and empty cocoon. The first is to invite the observer to interact, exchange perspectives, and experience what it feels like to be inside the cocoon. The second is the fact that the final project has been completed. Since it is the entire process of creation that defines the artist, rather than the final product, the cocoon remains empty. It merely witnesses the change that has occurred and the artistic process that has taken place.
The interactivity of the work and the shift in perspective it enables initiate a dialogue with the audience and encourage introspection.

Lux Aeterna, Narodno sveučilište Sesvete
With its central motive of light, which stands as an allegory of truth in both the physical and psychological construction of humanity, Lux Aeterna transcends the mere materiality of light. This concept, explored primarily through the teachings of Thomas Aquinas, encounters a conflict of contrasting ideas: activity-passivity, light-darkness, vitality-mortality. Through these well-known conceptual pairs, a perspective on the general nature of humanity emerges, wherein, up to a certain extent, individuals condition their state by navigating between these concepts through surrender and will.
To clarify the concept of tradition in modernity, which is grounded in ancient materials translated into contemporary contexts, it is essential to remember that we view the future through the lens of the past, thereby transforming the idea into a response to previous actions. Lux Aeterna, or Eternal Light, represents the continuous human quest for knowledge, underscoring the importance of constant vigilance and awareness.

Exhibition of Posters by Students of Gymnasium Sesvete / Marco Polo (1254-1324)
The People's University of Sesvete, in partnership with Gymnasium Sesvete is hosting an exhibition featuring posters created by students from the Geographic-Historical group of Gymnasium Sesvete. Under the guidance of Professor Suzana Pešorda, school librarian Brigita Kosić and external collaborator Ruža Jozić the students explored available literature in the school library on the life and travels of Marco Polo, including his encounters with Kublai Khan in Mongolia.
The students researched various topics, including Marco Polo’s service to Kublai Khan, Marco Polo’s journeys through the Mongol and Chinese empires, The origins of Marco Polo's family and his return to Europe.
Special attention was given to Marco Polo’s book, "The Travels of Marco Polo", its importance, impact on future geographical travels and discoveries and the descriptions of everything Marco Polo saw and experienced in the Far East. Some of the students focused on inventions from the East that Marco Polo brought back from his travels and their significance for trade, the global economy and future travels. One group of students investigated the connection between Marco Polo and the island of Korčula, including his birthplace on Korčula and the exhibition at the Marco Polo Interpretation Center in the Korčula Museum.
During additional classes, the Geographic and Historical Research students of Gymnasium Sesvete worked on a project titled "Marco Polo - A Journey that Changed the World" and presented their findings through posters.
The Art Group of Gymnasium Sesvete, under the direction of Professor Ina Jozić, contributed to the school project on Marco Polo, marking the 700th anniversary of his death. They created silk paintings and illustrated geographical maps of Marco Polo's travels to the Far East, as well as maps of his return journey to Europe and Venice. In addition to the silk paintings, several students created posters with illustrations related to Marco Polo and his journey, including portraits of Marco Polo and Kublai Khan.

The project Landscape – Kako Vidim Svoj Kraj
The project "LANDSCAPE – How I See My Homeland" represents the vision of young artists regarding their native land. During the 2023/24 school year, participants in the "Creative Growing" program diligently worked on designing and creating scenes that reflect their daily lives and surroundings. Each participant independently designed a portion of the scene featuring various characters and events, ensuring that all the pieces could connect horizontally to form a larger whole. This entire composition showcases diverse scenes from their environment, including different activities such as outings, gatherings, places and amenities they wish were nearby. Each individual artwork becomes part of a broader story that extends from one panel to the next, creating a continuous narrative.
Under the expert guidance of artist Roko Jurić, the "Creative Growing" participants will transfer their work to a large painting canvas measuring 10 meters. This impressive landscape will be displayed on the open stage of D. Domjanić Square, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of the children's perspectives on their homeland and imagination. The children will have the chance to create this large artistic composition on the 10-meter-long canvas, expressing their creativity and imagination in shaping their vision of their homeland.

Educational Workshop: "Park, Not Parking" - Prigorje Museum
In collaboration with the Drawing and Painting School “Ostvarenje,” which operates in the Sesvete area, Muzej Prigorja will host interactive workshops in a public parking lot situated between two museum buildings. This space, formerly a courtyard of the now-protected cultural heritage – the Kurija of the Zagreb Chapter – will be temporarily transformed into a park and open gallery.
The program involves closing the parking lot to traffic, allowing its temporary repurposing into a park and an open-air gallery. Through a series of workshops inspired by the museum's collection, participants will engage in a creative process to produce exhibits for the temporary outdoor gallery. These workshops will explore the reimagining of central public spaces in Sesvete, aiming to foster a dialogue about the use and potential transformation of such areas into vibrant community spaces.

Ethnographic Museum Workshops
„Trees Around Us“ - This workshop is aimed at younger elementary school children and takes place in the yard of the Ethnographic Museum's Custody House. During the workshop, children will have the opportunity to explore and identify different types of leaves, learn about the diversity of plant life and understand the importance of trees. Participants will create plaster casts of leaves and bark, which they can take home as keepsakes or leave in the museum yard as decorations. The goal of the workshop is to help children understand the valuable roles of trees while enjoying a fun and creative activity.
Herb Garden for Every Space - The habit of buying food from large retail chains has pushed our food system to the brink of sustainability. Therefore, it's important to preserve the tradition of gardening and grow at least some herbs on your own balcony or yard. In this workshop, participants will learn how to create a mini vertical herb garden using easily available materials like wooden pallets. This garden will fit well on balconies and yards and can be decorated according to personal taste. The elements created will remain permanently in the Ethnographic Museum's garden, and each child will receive a plant to take home and watch grow. This workshop is suitable for anyone aged 7 and older.

Presentation of the elective course "Electromobility" at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum
The School of Road Transport from Zagreb has already started aligning with new technologies in transportation through previous projects, such as Europe Electric Car (Leonardo da Vinci Partnership, 2012-2014) and LEMO (Learning E-Mobility), by developing the competencies of students and teachers in vocational schools through education and training on electric cars. Additionally, cooperation has been established with manufacturers and other stakeholders who are directly or indirectly involved in the development of electric vehicles and the accompanying infrastructure.
The introduction of the elective course in electromobility into the curriculum is a logical continuation, with a special emphasis on the ecological aspect of the e-mobility concept by using electricity from renewable sources.

Meteorological Observation - "Technical Museum" Weather Station
In the courtyard of the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum, a classical climatological station has been installed to measure basic meteorological elements and phenomena necessary for understanding weather and climate. The station will remain permanently in the Museum's courtyard even after the Science Festival concludes. It is equipped with basic classical meteorological instruments for measuring air temperature and humidity, a rain gauge, and registered instruments. Get acquainted with the process of obtaining and measuring meteorological data, which you read about daily in newspapers or hear on the radio or television. Without this data, collected across Croatia and surrounding areas, there would be no knowledge of weather and climate, nor the weather forecasts that often help us plan our daily activities. This presentation is suitable for children from preschool age to high school students.

Conference "Common Public Space"
As part of the European Mobility Week (EMW), the Croatian Association of Persons with Disabilities (SOIH) traditionally participates in the program held at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum (TMNT). This year, for the first time, the AccessibleEU (AEU) consortium is co-organizing the event. AEU organizes various activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops, demonstration programs, and exercises through national accessibility experts in each EU member state. These activities cover five fundamental areas of accessibility: the built environment, transportation, ICT and AI, legislation, and standards and norms in each EU member state, to better and timely harmonize them at both national and EU levels. The conference is expected to include representatives from relevant ministries and institutions such as Croatian Railways (HŽ), Zagreb Public Transport (ZET), and others. Participants, including associations, individuals with disabilities, academia, and other interested parties, will engage in AEU activities to improve their awareness, needs, and quality of life.
The conference is structured with lectures and participant networking over six hours, including Q&A sessions and breaks. It is linked with a demonstration of special vehicles for people with disabilities by ZET, which will take place the previous day at TMNT. The conference will be held in Croatian, with sign language interpretation.

Walks Through Nature and Protected Areas of Zagreb
Enhancing the quality of life is one of the key elements in the development of cities, and preserving biodiversity and maintaining natural values is one of the crucial tools for achieving this goal. During Mobility Week, in addition to promoting physical activity among citizens, the aim is to contribute to their education and awareness of the necessity of sustainable development and the preservation of existing natural values:
On September 21st, at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, two guided walks will take place in Maksimir Park. During these guided walks, participants will learn about the cultural and natural values of Maksimir Park. The guided walk lasts approximately 2 hours, during which citizens involved in the event will be informed about the challenges of preserving natural and cultural heritage, as well as the measures being taken to ensure its conservation for future generations.
On September 22nd, at 10:30 AM, a guided walk will be held through the protected areas of Vejalnica and Krč. The tour will be led by experts from the Public Institution. This area is significant primarily for its dry continental grasslands and the species that inhabit this habitat. The area contains habitats that are suitable for many rare and strictly protected plant and animal species.

"CHILDREN - ACTIVE AND CAUTIOUS ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL AND AROUND IT
Ivana Mažuranića Elementary School, entrance from Vukovarska Street Thursday, September 19th from 12:00 to 2:00 PM

The goal is to remind all neighbors that children are on the streets when they are on their way to school, but also when they are playing! They often ride bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, and when they walk, they do so in groups, having fun and playing. We will write messages to drivers, asking them to slow down and pay more attention to the children moving around our streets. We will come to school on bicycles, ride rollerblades and scooters in the schoolyard, draw on the pavement, play some slightly forgotten games, and more. Through this activity, we aim to promote healthy lifestyle habits, as well as emphasize the need for socializing and safe outdoor play.

DHMZ (DRŽAVNI HIDROMETEOROLOŠKI ZAVOD) - LIFE City TRAQ Project – Traffic and Air Quality in Cities
The LIFE CityTRAQ project will address this challenge by developing tools to help identify hotspots with the highest pollution levels in cities. By linking pollution issues with potential policies, the project will create tools to establish scenarios that include mobility (traffic) and pollutant emissions. This will enable cities to devise appropriate measures to improve air quality for the benefit of their citizens.
The lecture is aimed at primary and secondary school students, as well as interested citizens, and will cover: the basics of air quality, a description of pollutants, where they originate, and how they enter the air. It will answer questions such as how poor air quality can affect our health, the link between traffic congestion and air quality in cities, and many more. Highlights from the ongoing LIFE City TRAQ project will be presented, with a focus on establishing a system that will help improve urban air quality (installation of sensor stations, development of various useful tools, etc.).
