Bologna organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2011, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
With the slogan “Bologna si muove – Muoviti con Bologna!” (Bologna is moving – Let's move with Bologna), the city of Bologna will join the European Mobility Week 2011.
From the 16th to the 22nd of September a very large amount of events and initiatives will be proposed to citizens with the aim to inform them on urban mobility's services and opportunities and raise awareness on sustainable mobility. People will have the opportunity to receive information, try and experience innovative and alternative means of transport, such us electric ones.

Bologna implements, planned or promotes one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

The main event will take place on the week-end Sept. 17th-18th, when many initiatives will be proposed to citizens in the suggestive open air contest of the central and crowded Piazza Maggiore square and its surroundings. The topics of the events of the week-end will be the cycling mobility (with information on new services offered to cyclists and many initiatives to promote the “two wheels”) and the electric vehicles (with dedicated info point and exhibitions to let people know and experience innovative and very low pollutant means of transport).

Bologna carries out a Car-free day 2011 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
