A new bicycle lane is being built on Samuel Permans road and Fagerbacken road. Fagerbacken road has also got a new noise protection fence. A walk lane and bicycle lane has also been added to Pampas road. Better street lightning has been installed in the Lövberga park and the number of parking lots on Sjötorget, the lake square, has been reduced from 134 to 126.
Car-free day
Östersund (City of Östersund)
carries out a Car-free day 2007 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
