Detailed description (English): A "metrominute" is a map that measures distances between various points and the average travel time between them. It is also a promotional tool for walking, which tends to promote walking, especially in urban areas.
Fifth-grade students will create a "metrominute" map centered on our school and the main points of interest near the school: library, museums, community centers, parks, monuments, public transportation, and more.
First, we'll create a virtual map using Google Maps, marking the main points of interest near the school. Then, using the same app, we'll calculate the distance in meters and the travel time to each point from the school. Next, we'll print this map, and in groups, students will create their own "metrominutes" using a template. Finally, we'll display the created "metrominutes" at the school entrance so students, teachers, and families can see them.
Target group(s): - Know the surroundings around the school.
