Detailed description (English): Our school is actively taking part in the European Mobility Week, an initiative that promotes more sustainable, safe, and healthy mobility habits across Europe. The aim is to raise awareness within the educational community about the importance of reducing the use of private vehicles and encouraging travel options that are more respectful of people and the environment.
Throughout this week, pupils from Pre-primary (I3) to Year 6 will engage in various **activities linked to the areas of Physical Education and Health Education**, all of them related to active and safe mobility within the town. Among the activities, we highlight:
* Walks and strolls around the town.
* Games and activities in streets and squares.
* Gymkhanas and circuits to encourage active mobility.
* Other actions that combine physical activity with the discovery of more sustainable urban mobility.
With these activities, we want to emphasise that moving on foot in a safe way is both possible and beneficial, while also contributing to personal well-being and the care of our environment.
Our participation in the European Mobility Week is yet another step in the school’s commitment to promoting the values of **health, sustainability, and community living.
Target group(s): Activities for students from ages 3 to 12.
Objectives: 1. Promote more sustainable behaviour regarding the use of private vehicles and explore alternative ways of moving around the city that encourage physical activity over sedentary lifestyles.
2. Raise students’ awareness of the impact of transport on the quality of the air around us and how to act in order to improve it.
3. Prioritise walking within the town as a means of sustainable mobility and highlight everything that must be done to ensure it is also safe.
4. Encourage, from the school environment, a civic interaction of students with their town, fostering knowledge and respect for its cultural and environmental heritage, in order to generate a rewarding experience that can also be extended to the family setting.
5. Promote and highlight the search for new forms of mobility, moving away from the absolute dominance of private cars towards more sustainable, safe, and healthy transport.
