Detailed description (English): “IN-VISIBLE STREETS” is a road safety multimedia project that comprises two large supplementary items: a DOCUMENTARY MOVIE and an information AUDIOVISUAL ARCHIVE.
Additionally, it aims at honouring the millions of people and their families, who have been tragically involved in road incidents.
Detailed description (original language): Around the world, traffic accidents claim the lives of around 1,300,000 people year, and an additional 20 to 50 million suffer severe injuries.
These figures just cannot be justified.
Hence, we wonder, Why is this problem receiving so little attention?
What makes us accept that accidents on the road are a necessary expense or consequence of being mobile?
We want the general public to be aware of those seeming solutions that enhance road coexistence and, consequently, save lives.
Our goal is to showcase effective examples and explore the possibility of replicating them in different cities or social contexts.
All involved voices should be listened to, and observations should always be made rather than judgments.
The project is built upon two main pillars:
On the one hand, a public-facing documentary film.
This movie will feature a range of viewpoints and voices from interviews with decision-makers, road users (both professionals and the general public), and technical specialists. From a more human and emotional perspective, victims and victims' relatives will connect the themes and tales.
Despite the fact that the documentary features testimony that are quite emotional, its tone is not melancholy. Our attention will be directed toward constructive, economical, and successful methods and approaches that might enhance a city. In the end, the documentary has an uplifting overall tone.
Target group(s): General public and road safety technicians
Objectives: In-Visible Streets aims to raise awareness about road safety and seeks to save lives by bringing the topic to the public agenda.
