Detailed description (English): This MOBILITYACTION is linked with our Erasmus+ project number 2025-1-ES01-KA210-SCH-000365879 entitled "Radio Garden", which aims at combating climate change, its causes and its effects through different actions. On this occasion, students from the three partner schools will conduct a study on public transportation in their cities, as our goal is to rethink it and make it more sustainable in line with the European Green Deal, which aims to make Europe climate-neutral by 2050. Another objective is to gain more insight into their mobility habits, their views on their cities’ green mobility systems as well as their direct account of the disparities between the quality of transportation in suburban and urban areas in Europe. Students will conduct a survey among their peers, their families and all the school community to learn what means of transport they use to commute to school, to their work places, to extra school activities, to go shopping. They will analyse the data, create bar graphs, analyse results and write a report that will be presented in class and to the school community via the Erasmus+ Corner as well as published in the project’s magazine and later broadcasted in the podcast channel show of the Erasmus+ project. On the other hand, students will also redesign public transportation systems and facilities in their cities and towns using ICT tools, always keeping in mind how to make mobility for everyone much more sustainable and accessible.
Target group(s): Students, teachers, parents, the school community, and anyone who can help improve the mobility system for everyone.
Objectives: The objectives of our MOBILITYACTION are specific, measurable, and aligned with the Erasmus+ priorities (sustainability, digital transformation, inclusion, and participation).
Raise awareness of sustainable mobility
Encourage students to reflect on their own mobility habits and understand the environmental impact of different modes of transportation.
Promote active citizenship and alignment with the European Green Deal
Engage students in rethinking public transportation systems in their cities to contribute to the EU’s goal of climate neutrality by 2050.
Develop research and analytical skills
Enable students to design and conduct surveys, collect data, create visual representations (bar graphs, charts), and interpret results critically.
Foster digital and creative competences
Use ICT tools to redesign public transportation systems and facilities, integrating innovation, accessibility, and sustainability.
Encourage collaboration and intercultural exchange
Bring together students from different European regions to compare urban and suburban mobility challenges, share perspectives, and co-create solutions.
Strengthen communication and dissemination skills
Support students in writing reports, presenting findings to their school communities, and publishing their work in the project’s magazine and podcast channel.
Promote inclusivity and accessibility in mobility
Ensure that redesigned transport solutions consider the needs of all citizens, including those in suburban areas and people with reduced mobility.
Improve linguistic competence in English
Enhance students’ ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, through collaborative activities, presentations, and dissemination tasks within the project.
