Detailed description (English): In the Sant Gil school the proposal for the sustainable mobility week has been asking children to do a diagnostic of how safe is the place they live. This has been done with the support of a worksheet that consists of a checklist and a space to draw or stick a picture of the street and to value the safety of it: green=safe, orange=more or less and red=dangerous according to the criteria of the checklist.
After this individual work, they are asked to do class work and put stickers of the different accorded colours green, orange or red to a map placed in the school’s hall. Thanks to this visual support children think cooperatively a proposal of improvement. And all children’s proposals are shared in the hall too.
Finally, sixth graders have the responsibility to write a letter to the mayor summarising their school mates’ proposals.
We value this activity in a positive manner as all pupils’ have been involved as well as their families and they have come up with really good ideas.
Detailed description (original language): A l'escola Sant Gil (Torà) hem realitzat la setmana de la mobilitat on l'alumnat ha fet un anàlisi de com de segur era el poble on vivia. Per fer-ho, tots els alumnes han hagut de realitzar una fitxa on s'avaluava com era el seu carrer, sentit dels cotxes, tipus de vorera, si era peatonal o no i finalment, si era un carrer segur o no per a ells. Aquest últim, ho classificaven per colors, vermell: poc segur, taronja: mig segur i verd: molt segur.
Després de fer l'anàlisi individual, l'alumnat del centre havia de completar un mapa on hi havia el poble de Torà on viuen la majoria i també els pobles del voltant i col·locar un gomet del color que han escollit al seu carrer. D'aquesta manera, es feia molt visual quines eren les zones vermelles del poble i on podríem incidir en fer alguna proposta de millora.
Finalment, amb les propostes de millora recollides, l'alumnat de 6è curs (12 anys) havia d'escriure una carta formal a l'alcaldessa del poble informant del que s'ha observat i de les seves propostes. La idea es fer arribar aquesta carta a l'ajuntament per tal que pugui escoltar al poble i valorar si pren alguna mesura.
