Detailed description (English): On Monday 22 September 2025 (17:00 – 19:30), the PTP, with the support of the ATM, Barcelona City Council and TMB, organises a special urban transport race to celebrate the metro’s 100th anniversary. Starting at Universitat station, participants follow a gymkhana exploring “ghost stations” and hidden metro spaces, solving clues and completing challenges. The race compares walking, cycling, bus and metro combinations, showing that sustainable modes are often faster than private cars. A simulated car journey is used for comparison. Registration is free but limited. At the finish, times and modes are recorded, and participants receive a transport ticket and refreshments.
Target group(s): Citizens of all ages – families, groups of friends, company teams and history enthusiasts.
Objectives: Celebrate the centenary of the metro; reveal hidden parts of the network; prove sustainable transport is faster and cleaner; promote teamwork and community fun.
Partner: PTP, ATM, Barcelona City Council, TMB.
