Detailed description (English): AIRE is an ambitious and necessary project to improve the quality of life of the community and promote sustainable urban development. Its main objective is to recover public spaces that have been lost to motorized vehicles, or deteriorated by time and excessive use, to transform them into green, pedestrian areas accessible to all. It is a network of institutional action in favor of raising awareness and valuing public space as a fundamental right of citizens, and mainly that allows mobility in our cities whether on foot or by bicycle safely.
The town councils attached to this network are committed to sharing this philosophy: that public space is a continuity of private space. A friendly and safe space, without stress and pleasant for the development of daily life, carrying out policies for the recovery of its spaces, promoting alternative mobility in its municipal areas and carrying out dissemination and awareness actions about the need for recovery of public spaces and the use of more sustainable modes of transport.
AIRE will be executed in 3 phases:
PHASE 1 (2024): A training course that has had an excellent reception among the target audience with 148 registered and with a wide representation of both technical and political personnel from the province's municipalities.
PHASE 2 (2025): Once the training is completed, the second phase of the Plan would begin in which municipal projects for the recovery of public space would be drafted through a subsidy from the Provincial Council of Cádiz to the interested municipalities.
PHASE3 (2026): Subsidy to execute the drafted
