Detailed description (English): In 1999, Wim Ouboter initiated a visionary journey to transform urban mobility. His brainchild, the Micro Kick-Scooter, kick-started eco-conscious micro-mobility. Yet, he didn't stop there. Frustrated by over-sized cars, he and his sons, Oliver and Merlin, aimed for change.
Here's the truth: Average cars carry 1.2 passengers and travel just 35 km daily. Essentially, traditional cars are grossly oversized for 95% of their typical use. Sounds absurd, doesn't it? This led to the creation of the Microlino - a revolutionary concept for daily commuting, whether work, a friendly visit or shopping. The objective was clear: redefine commuting from A to B.
Their vision demanded a vehicle that straddled the realms between a motorcycle and a car—compact, nimble yet weather-resistant and spacious enough for your groceries. In their quest for the perfect design, they stumbled upon the iconic "bubble cars" from the 1950s. Inspired by them, they crafted the blueprint for the Microlino.
Today, over 1,800 Microlinos redefine urban transport. The front door, far from a gimmick, allows effortless sideways parking. Three Microlinos fit in one spot, freeing urban spaces from oversized cars.
Another eco-friendly facet: The Microlino uses two-thirds less energy in production and driving compared to regular electric cars, solidifying its green credentials.
In the urban mobility saga, Wim Ouboter and sons pioneer a new era, where practicality, eco-friendliness, and innovation converge. The Microlino symbolizes change, showcasing innovation's power to reshape urban landscapes for the better.
