Detailed description (English): Drivers, visitors and tourists will be informed with real time information on the availability and location of parking spots around the village of Gharb. These smart solutions will be supported by the appropriate management and operations structure to ensure that accurate information is being given to the citizen. This will also help to reduce congestion, pollution and the time to arrive at the destination.
In order to achieve this, parking sensors will be installed on each parking bay and Outdoor Variable message Signs (parking displays) will be installed on roads leading to Gharb. The Parking sensors will communicate with the displays using the Internet of Things technology (IoT) to show availability.
Introducing smart parking will enable better connections within the locality. The sensors detect available parking spots in closed spaces. Thanks to the incorporated LED panel indicators, rivers can see how many parking spaces are available and whether a parking space is used for free.
Smart parking can significantly curb air and noise pollution levels through sustainable urban mobility, saving time and energy, reducing traffic problems and bringing air and noise pollution down. Being able to accurately direct a driver to an available space has many environmental benefits; it reduces CO2 emissions, noise and other pollutants. Smart Parking can be combined with Smart Environment, measuring air quality and parking space availability.
Sustainable transportation aids in reducing traffic congestion, reduces air pollution and traffic will flow more easily.
