Detailed description (English): Last Saturday, on 22nd September 2018, students of Secondary School “Miron Costin” Suceava took part in a relay activity within the framework of the EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK, which aims at making people aware of the importance of using environmentally friendly means of transport. The 70 children who enrolled for this activity were grouped into three teams: bicycles, rollerblades and skateboards and were encouraged by parents, teachers and inhabitants of Cuza Voda II - the part of the neighbourhood where the competition took place.
The motto of the activity was “Mix and Move!” and it had a huge impact on the community: the children talked to the local people about stopping climate change and improving air quality, as sustainable mobility increases the quality of life in towns and cities and helps diminishing air pollution, noise pollution, accidents and obesity. The car has become the main source of both pollution and sedentary life, so, by using bikes or the public transport and by walking, such problems can be avoided.
We would like to thank you all the teachers who organised the relay race and contributed to the success of this activity: head teacher, Dumitru Moraru, vice-head teacher, Ancuța Gulei, educational activity coordinator, Elena-Georgeta Adrobotoaei and the teachers: Gabriela Apetrea, Violeta Strugaru, Adriana Caliniuc, Pascal Mitu (priest), Cosmina Pelin, Bogdan Macovei, Mihaela Mînzălică, Alina Cozmanciuc and Maria Holotă.
Deviza activității a fost “Mix and move!”
Moraru Dumitru, director adjunct prof. Gulei Ancuța, consilier educativ prof. Adrobotoaei Elena-Georgeta, prof. Apetrea Gabriela, prof. Strugariu Violeta, prof. Caliniuc Adriana, părintele Mitu Pascal, prof. Pelin Cosmina, prof. Macovei Bogdan, prof. Mînzălică Mihaela, prof. Cozmanciuc Alina și prof. Holotă Maria.
